I love this book, so much so that I often carry it in my handbag as a go to boost for when I need inspiration, motivation or reassurance. Interspersed with Annabel’s down to earth advice are interesting stories which neatly illustrate the point she wants to get across. Further to the previous reviews recommending this book as a perfect gift, I received it for Christmas and just slurped it up! The suggestions are both practical and dare-to-dream-bigger. The tone is both gentle and tough, peppered with much humour and kindness. Refreshingly, it didn’t read like it was written for a specific audience and so lives up to its cover promise of containing wisdom for EVERY kind of busy person.
This is such an accessible, hands-on book. Broken into 52 fabulous tips for making life more vibrant, and those tips themselves full of different ideas and inspiration. My current favourites are `Focus on your strengths… choose one of your top five strengths as your theme for the week and if you encounter a challenge, draw on that strength to help you handle it.’ And `Don’t ask `why?” (why is my life like this? why me?) Instead ask `what?’ (what can I do about this? what can I learn? what’s the first step?) The book is brimming with deceptively simple coaching ideas,each one with far-reaching effects. I keep it nearby for when I’m stuck or down: it’s a brilliant tonic and pick-me-up, or rather pick-myself-up… Highly recommended.
